Winspector - Finding windows

Spy++ has an incedibly awkward way of finding your window in the Window List. Winspector makes this chore almost pleasant.

Click and drag

At the top of the Window List you can see a panel like that below:

Click the left mouse button (don't release it) and drag the mouse cursor over the screen. As you move over other windows they will get a highlight and a tip will show their window class. Here's what it looks like:

Once you release the left mouse button the window will be selected in Winspector's Window List.

It gets easier

When you release the left mouse button you can also open a Message or Property window.

Hold down SHIFT to create a Property window and hold down CTRL to open a Message window, or hold down both to get both.
